Gratitude September 5, 2014 That meal! Psalm 104:14 He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth Recently I watched a documentary about a young girl that could not eat the way normal humans ate. She had to be fed through a feeding tube attached to her stomach. She did not have a physical or mental disability that made that imperative. She did not lack any of the organs that are part of the digestive system. Her problem was purely psychological the specialists told her parents! Her parents had to spend a lot of time, money and tears trying to get her to eat normally and at their wits end finally got her to attend a specialized clinic for children with such eating disorders. That documentary reminded me of the fact that every time I can do something I am supposed to be able to do, it is because of Gods mercy. Then there are those that because of physical disability, they no longer can eat and taste food like you and I can. Some have body image issues and throw up food they have eaten or just starve themselves. Others just do not have enough to eat. For all these people, I pray that God may intervene. Through our NGO, RISA Inc, we are trying to make a difference. Today, I thank God for the ability to eat. I am not taking it for granted.
