Gratitude is one of the least articulate of the emotions, - TopicsExpress

Gratitude is one of the least articulate of the emotions, especially when it is deep. I began trying to write this on Saturday evening as I was lying in bed exhausted after one of the most profound five hours of my life. All the words came out jumbled and so full of emotion that they werent making sense even to me! So Ive waited. I have allowed the richness of those hours to seep into the deepest part of my soul. They have become a part of me, a glorious piece of lifes puzzle locked into place, set with the strongest bonds of love. Thank you for making David Sparks Birthday Luau the shindig he hoped it would be! While we knew that there were many planning to attend, we were not prepared for the many that waited in line to share their love, their thanks, and their words of encouragement. Of course, there were some that were confused upon hearing that they were not in the line to see Santa Claus! All that waiting for naught! At the beginning of last week David was not doing well, to the point that I was really concerned that he would not make it to his party on Saturday. He was so fatigued that he slept a majority of Monday and Tuesday. The Hosparus nurse came on Wednesday and they determined to change up some medicines and add a few more in the hope that they would be able to boost him up to get through the weekend. Thankfully his body responded well and you got to see him in all of his glory, unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt and all! And all of you, and the love that you shared with him, was a beautiful reminder to him that the calling on his life has been fulfilled, and yet continues. I am going to say the cliche things this morning. Hug your kids. Encourage your friends. Face your fears. Dont be identified by what others may say about you. Give. Be genuine and authentic. Treasure the precious moments of life. Treasure the precious people in your life. And express your love in words. Say it! On Saturday David was given the most amazing opportunity to hear the love. David was shown love. And I hope all of you felt David express his love to each one of you. You have been a catalyst in making his life so beautiful. While he has given much, it has been in the giving that he has received his greatest gift...all of you. Thank you Megan Sparks Bracken for all of your hard work getting the Luau together! Thank you Matt Bracken for sacrificing time at your own home to live in ours! Thank you Luke Sparks for coming home so often with your squad in tow that bring such joy and laughter and craziness to our home. Thank you Paula Deaton for making sure David got the pig! And THANK YOU to everyone who brought food and cards and patiently waited for your chance to hug and kiss my prince charming. It was the most amazing day! Carol Sparks Mickey Mosher
