Gratitude time. 1) The reaction I get from Ella when I play Call me Ella and she doesnt expect it. HUGE smile, tight squeeze hug and cleaning up the living room so she can dance about as I play it AND her acting out a few of the little actions (you kiss me three times then you look at me). 2) Having a partner who is supportive of my pursuing art. Its hard to put into words the importance of having a nurturing #1 fan; Someone who is willing to watch the kids so I can go to practices or shows and rarely bats and eye (unless she REALLY wants to go too). I know Im not the only artist who has this. We all need to put those partners on a pedestal. 3) Watching a really good film. We watched Dallas Buyers Club knowing nothing about it except it had good reviews and Matt McConnehay (or however its spelled) is in it; and for me, that is NOT a selling point. But holy smokes; what a fantastic movie! About a 1/3 of the way through I realized Whoa. This great movie premise just got even better! and Matt was great! BONUS TWO: 4) Having the opportunity to take care of my family when they need me. This includes having fantastic teammates at work who dont bat an eye when that help is necessary. 5) Cheese. Oh the volumes of love I could write about cheese. Spiced gouda is my favourite (with herbed Havarti a close second). Just the feeling of chewing it and feeling that fatty goodness seep between the cracks in my mouth. Divine. I didnt have any of those two cheese; Im just grateful they exist on this planet.
