Gravitational attraction and orbital speed is greatest and least - TopicsExpress

Gravitational attraction and orbital speed is greatest and least at Solstice. Today, we face away from the Sun, as our axial tilt in the Northern Hemisphere faces away from the sun. The lag for our coming about now (in the northern hemisphere) to face the Sun, where orbital Kinetic energy today is highest but begins to decrease. Potential will eventually increase as we slow our orbits speed, leaving the Suns at our closest close proximity. Our Northern Hemispheres tilt, facing away from the Sun today(effecting our Parallelism to Sol), will be evidenced in dark mornings, for a short time still.. However, increased daylight of 3+ minutes per day will be observed beginning tomorrow and last until June 21st. Our Mornings will get back on track with earlier sunrises as we decrease our orbital speed as well as decrease our gravitational attraction and begin to have a more direct ray as we come about, to face the Sun (in the Northern hemisphere). Today we are closest to the Sun - Perihelion and we are also facing away from the direct ray of the Sun (in the Northern Hemisphere). Sun In NYS only gets as high in altitude today as 24 Degrees off horizon at local noon. Tropic of Capricorn is where the direct ray was seen at Zenith during their local noon @ 23.5 Degrees South Latitude. Sun rises (and sets) slightly north of its Southerly position, beginning tomorrow and continues to march North of South until it rises/sets Due East on March 23 (Equinox 12 hours of daylight Northern Hemisphere 12 hours of daylight Southern hemisphere) and then rises/sets progressively North of East and remains higher in the sky, with increased Insolation (duration of incoming solar radiation) providing longer days and more direct solar energy (Northern Hemisphere) until June 21st, where we are farthest from the sun - Aphelion but face directly into the Sun. Sun at local noon in NYS will reach 71 Degrees off horizon in its altitude on this day. The Direct Ray of the Sun will be seen at Zenith @ Local noon on this day at 23.5 Degrees North Latitude. Happy Winter Solstice to Northern Hemisphere! Arctic in complete 24 hour darkness. Happy Summer Solstice to Southern Hemisphere! Antarctic in complete 24 hour light. Equinox brings never ending darkness to sunrise (Vernal) in Arctic (where it will cease to set) and Finally, Sunset (where it will cease to rise) in the Antarctic. Latitudes above and below 65.5 (+,-) are the Arctic and Antarctic circles where this occurs.
