Graxler to fill Mata void at Chelsea, Clement Grenie interests Gunners Another day in the world of football brings more transfer talk and it isn’t much of a surprise to see Chelsea grabbing plenty of today’s headlines with players possibly coming in and going out of Stamford Bridge. It looks as though it could be an interesting week in west London and new manager Jose Mourinho is set to hold talks with John Terry, David Luiz, Juan Mata and Fernando Torres with regards to their future with the Europa League Champions. Club owner Roman Abramovich doesn’t want Mata or Luiz to leave as they are fans’ favourites at the Bridge, but Mourinho doesn’t see the latter as a centre-back and can’t guarantee him first-team football in midfield. If Luiz’s future is away from Chelsea, then Barcelona could bid as much as £30 million for the Brazilian. Terry will remain as club captain, but he is another that can’t be guaranteed first-team football. It is thought he will play this season before joining the coaching staff. Mata has been Chelsea’s best player over the last couple of seasons, so doubts about his future seem to be stranger. However, Mourinho has his eye on Schalke’s 19-year-old wonder-kid, Julian Graxler and could need some finds to lure the German away from the Bundesliga. If Mata becomes available, there will be some massive clubs after his signature. As for Torres, he might be third choice striker next year with the Blues looking to sign Edison Cavani and Romelu Lukaku likely to play a big part in the first-team. He is set to be given the choice to fight for his place or move on and Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on this story. One man who does look to be on the way out of the club is Demba Ba. Mourinho is after that one top-quality midfielder and he is keeping tabs on Eliaquim Mangala of Porto, as well as Sami Khedira and Fernando Alonso from Real Madrid and Everton’s Marouane Fellaini. That said though, Daniele De Rossi still remains his number one target. Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur have moved ahead of Chelsea in the race for Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder. The Dutchman hasn’t been in Turkey for too long, but it looks as though he could be on the way out and Andre Villas-Boas is keen on the former Inter Milan man. If they can bring him to the Lane, Spurs will feel as though they have done some excellent business. Arsenal are another club in the hunt for a few players during the summer and Arsene Wenger likes the look of Lyon’s Clement Grenie, who seems to be keen for a move to the Premier League. Finally, Manchester United are still trying to bring Robert Lewandowski and Cesc Fabregas to Old Trafford, but if they doesn’t go through, David Moyes will do his best to sign Mario Gomez from Bayern Munich and Thiago Alcantara from Barcelona. This could prove to be one of the busiest summer transfer windows to date, so keep an eye out for any movement in this stories over the next couple of day.
