Great 8+ mile walk with Rachel this morning. Interesting times on - TopicsExpress

Great 8+ mile walk with Rachel this morning. Interesting times on the street where Joss Whedon, Mel Brooks and various and sundry other sickeningly wealthy types reside. First, as we turned back at the end of the street (we prefer our stalking bi-directional), we encountered a nice guy who may or may not be a celebrity of some kind walking a beautiful dog of -- at a distance -- unclear breed. As we passed them, we exchanged hellos, and I said, We were just admiring your dog. The dog had just wrapped up whizzing, so obviously Rach felt it was important to point out, But not the peeing. Which wasnt at all awkward. (The pooch was a Rhodesian Ridgeback, by the way, and his peeing performance seemed perfectly satisfactory.) Half a block father along, another walker: cereal bowl with spoon in one hand; the other holding a leash that terminated in an obese pig, whose tail -- without even a hint of spiral -- wagged happily. We again exchanged hellos, at which point the pig tripped and toppled over sideways. (He was fine. No peeing observed.) A bit later, on our second stalk of/walk past Casa Whedon, we noted that their Toyota Siena had been downsized to a RAV4. I wanted to take a photo to sell to the tabloids, accompanying a story with a headline like, Trouble on Avengers Set?!? Director Downsizes! But I didnt, because freedom. (As in, not-jail.) Finally, as we exited the street, we spotted a brand-new tennis ball in the gutter. Now, when wed entered, wed been startled by the sound of a practice machine launching a ball on the completely-hidden-but-totally-obvious private tennis courts right at that corner. I grabbed the ball and hurled it back over the fence. We crossed the street, then heard a faint thank you! from the courts. Thats right. Ive been thanked by a billionaire. #bestwalkevar
