Great Bear Environmental and Cultural Consulting Ltd. (Great Bear) is looking for wildlife biologists or environmental scientists for contract work in Northern BC and Alberta. Work consist of at least two 15+ days periods, one in July and one in August that maybe extended to additional contracts in the remediation sector for the summer and potential full time employment. Preference will be given to candidate(s) with graduate degrees and/or an equivalent experience with bird biology, wildlife surveys and pre-construction byophisical assessments. Recent graduates from university or technical diplomas may also be considered for field assistant positions. Candidates should have or be willing to acquire standard first aid certification (some funding is available for this simple 2 day course). Work requirements include phisycal fitness and willingness to work long days outside with a professional team. A positive attitude, professionalism and good work standards are considered must have qualities. Compensation ranges from $250 per day for junior staff to $350 per day for project managers. Further compensation options (higher wage, use of personal equipment) will be negotiated for people with professional designations (R.P.Bio, EP) and extensive experience. Transportation to/from site will be provided and all accomodations/subsistence costs covered.
