Great Democracy Now! show today! Ryan Shapiro (I didnt even know who this guy is until today) is so on point! He is now suing the US government over their rejection of his Freedom of Information Act requests. So happy a guy like this exists. He is a Phd candidate at MIT. He is interviewed for the entire hour today and gives some incredible insight into wide ranging issues: Why is our government refusing to release information about the United States role in the imprisonment of Nelson Mandela? Government secrecy in NSA and FBI.... Why is the Freedom of Information Act getting us so little information? A lack of transparency rules the day. Obamas claim that he would have the most transparent government in US history is total crap. Ryan Shapiro is also an Animal Rights Activist, and he delves into the blatant overreaching attack on those that try to expose the horrifying conditions of animals in factory farms. Basically, Animal Rights Activists have been branded terrorists by the US government (pushed by powerful Agribusiness corporations of course) under a 2006 law called the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act....THIS LAW IS ABSOLUTE BULL SHIT.
