Great Gopurams-26 This is the Gopuram of the Mariamman Temple in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam that I had visited many years ago. On the walls inside the praharam, I had seen pictures of various Hindu deities. I understand that the temple was built in the 19th century by some traders from India. It shows how far Hindu relgion, culture and above all, deep faith had traveled into distant cities long time ago. The local vietnamese offer prayers there with flowers and udubathi.
