Great. It looks like Microsoft is finally getting its act together - TopicsExpress

Great. It looks like Microsoft is finally getting its act together after wasting the past six years ignoring the inevitable. What now? The question now is What will fuse Azure/Windows 10 with Oracle, with IBM, with HP, with Adobe, with Autodesk and all other players with the medical information community (for starters)? Not asking that question indicates blindness in those claiming to analyse the Information of Things world. The truth lies here: Windows 8 had a universal app platform, with a common Windows Store that handle updates independently. Yes. And we know how Ballmer refused to use those capabilities acquired by IP license agreement to their fullest enablement. That is the reason he is no longer Microsoft CEO. That is the reason Microsoft has wasted their shareholder values and time. If Ballmer and his management had actually put the capabilities built into Windows 7 and 8 (all that R&D from the Longhorn era went to waste), we would be talking about a resplendent Microsoft dominating the technology world to come. Instead, were still talking about whether there will be a Start button and whether User Interface determines the effectiveness of what is supposed to be an adaptive analytical engine - not some see and say toy connected to the internet. pcworld/article/2689393/windows-10-revealed-microsofts-next-os-fuses-windows-7-and-8.html
