Great News, I was at Murray Farm 7am this morning, and the council have aerated the whole ground, excavated the soccer grass, and prepared the base areas on diamonds 1 and 2. The dolorite ( soil ) has been delivered to both Murray Farm and Muirfield High School ( thanks Dave ! ). Dolorite is the perfect surface for the bases and batting boxes. It will reduce water puddles, remove that muddy look when wet, and bring our fields up to the standard that others will envy. It is very hard to source, and was located and transported from Blayney exclusively to us !! IT IS NOW UP TO US to complete this great start. It’s not a huge job with your contribution be it big or small. Those that have not replied with a YAY or NAY, please do so. I am co-ordinating numbers so that Dave Aiston and Garry Butler ( grounds managers ) are not left alone with this task. In addition on Saturday, North Rocks Soccer will evacuate their equipment, and move out of the canteen. I will need help with preparing the canteen. I have decided to be Temporary Canteen Manager until we can find a fresh new face to take over. Steve Meats in Carmen Drive will be a major supplier to the canteen, and we will see how that relationship goes. Steve is a member of the Baseball Club, so we hope this goes well and expect that you will support his business in the Summer season. Special thanks to Kylie Walther for the petrol edger, and Mark Taylor for Machinery hire. Sarah Priestly and Peter Handel our Vice Presidents have done an outstanding job and should be commended when you see them next. Can you please forward this email to the respective managers and coaches for their support this Saturday ASAP. That’s all for now, all is well.
