Great News!!!!!!!! WSU Medical School. One issue where voters on both sides of the state agree is their support for Washington State University opening another medical school. Statewide, 81.2 percent of voters said they support WSU establishing a medical school, and 72.8 percent continued that support even after being told it would require the Legislature to change state law and provide funding. The percentages were higher in Eastern Washington, at 86.1 percent and 76.3 percent. Along with G Squared (Gallatin and GS Strategy Group), sponsors of the survey are the Spokane Journal of Business, Greater Spokane Incorporated, Tri-City Development Council and Downtown Seattle Association. The statewide survey was conducted Nov. 30-Dec. 2 and included 400 likely voters, with a margin of error of 4.9 percent. G-Squared also conducted an oversample of 200 people in the Yakima and Spokane media markets ensure valid data was obtained for Eastern Washington. Additionally, 363 members of the Eastern Washington and Seattle business communities responded to 20 of the identical questions asked in the statewide survey.
