Great Relaxing Stay My Wife, 7 Month old son and I recently - TopicsExpress

Great Relaxing Stay My Wife, 7 Month old son and I recently spent 10 nights at the Kandooma and we must say the hotel totally exceeded our expectations. Out of all the places we have stayed, Kandooma had the most helpful and considerate staff that we have ever experienced. We left so impressed, it is a credit to the entire team. We stayed in a Single storey beach bungalow. When we first arrived, we were worried that the rooms were too close to each other but once we moved in, we hardly saw or heard our neighbours. The room was a good size and beautifully presented. We had a king sized bed and there was plenty of room for our sons cot. From the back door, we had views of the lagoon and a hammock to relax in. The outdoor bathroom had a massive bath in it that fit our whole family and it was really enjoyable having a shower in the sunshine. The food, whilst expensive was some of the best we have eaten and the portions were very generous. There was plenty of variety so you would never get bored with the selection. A nice feature was the resort made mini newspapers(Up to 4pages) for numerous locations for guests to read during breakfast. (The ones I remember were Australia, France, UK, Global but there were others where I didnt recognise the language). On most nights, there was a different theme for dinner that you could attend. We only went to the BBQ on the beach and the Fishermans Market. Occasionally there was also a trio singing live music. We did a fair bit of diving while we were there and the child care team took great care of our son (Thank you so much ladies). There isnt a house reef so much that you can get good snorkelling but there is a small boat trip that can take you to a nearby reef. On a non dive day, we did some snorkelling just in front of the over water accommodation and there is a small hole there that contains some nice fish. Its a pity that the non powered water sports are not included in the Tariff. $30 an hour for the paddle board was steep considering how little wear an tear these things would have. Same with the sail boards and catamarans. Mind you, most resorts in the Maldives charge for these activities(unlike Fiji) We definitely recommend this resort. (Thank you Moolie67 for sharing your holiday experience with us on Tripadvisor and we are looking forward to welcoming you and your family back to our little paradise in the near future.)
