Great TOSCA review (Deutsche Oper Berlin - 15/01/2015) - Anja Harteros, Marcelo Alvarez, Ivan Inverardi. Here Marcelo Álvarez as Cavaradossi manages to win all hearts and ears in Act 3. His extremely pensive E lucevan le stelle, with very beautiful and perfectly varied Piani, shows his utter despair. And how touching is his loving surprise at the fact that Toscas delicate hands have killed Scarpia! Both Tosca and Cavaradossi present themselves as compelling lovers, matured through their terrible experiences. The waves of enthusiasm are running high in the final applause.
