Great day on the water yesterday. We are making the transition - TopicsExpress

Great day on the water yesterday. We are making the transition into our winter shark diving setup now for the winter season upon us and the results are coming together very well. During the warmer months of the year May through December we are often further offshore and drifting while during the colder months of the year we usually setup in a shallower reef corridor location. We have been using a new method we have been planning for about a year now in preparation for the winter and its paying off big time. One of the biggest draws to the winter season here in South Florida where I am based are the Great Hammerheads. Great Hammers are the largest of the Hammerhead family and some believe the 2nd largest predatory shark in the ocean next to the Great White, if its not the 2nd (commonly given to the Tiger Shark) its the 3rd largest. These sharks can be massive and I best describe them as a Great White with a Hammer for a head. Heres some of the best shots I took yesterday with a basic GoPro Camera of the two Great Hammers that decided to come by the boat during our dive. One shark was around 8 and one was around 10, 500-800lbs. The sharks were major players and stayed right at the boat for over 3 hours. These sharks are notoriously elusive and can literally only be seen reliably at a handful of locations world wide. It was great to see them around the boat today and we look forward to the winter months ahead and the Great Hammers. There will be a lot more cutting edge shark action to come and I will make sure to post the best photos, reports, and videos I can about whats going on out there on the ocean. Thanks for checking in and stay tuned.
