Great day today with 115 8th grade students from Howell middle - TopicsExpress

Great day today with 115 8th grade students from Howell middle school releasing their salmon into the red cedar. They experienced live sea lamprey, casting, macroinvertebrates, a go fish game and getting into waders to release. Dr. Howard Tanner spoke to them about how salmon were brought to the Great Lakes. A huge thank you goes out to John Hesse, Ron Bacon, Ted Batterson, and Rick Preuss for helping out. Oh and this afternoon, we fished with the second half of 5th graders from Murphy and Ralya Elementary over 100 kids finished and most of them caught more than one some up to 12. Thank You teachers for getting your kids outdoors and Kelly Colflesh Meridian Twp. Park Friend of the year for helping out as always.
