Great days ahead for Craigmillar and Bonnyrigg, but not for Wester - TopicsExpress

Great days ahead for Craigmillar and Bonnyrigg, but not for Wester Hailes. There are two very special events coming up and I can only hope I am well enough to attend both of these. The first event is the Craigmillar Boxing Club show on Sunday, October 13, at 1pm. Wonderful for this club again and as I have a special bond with many sports people in Craigmillar, I just want to be there to share in the amazing atmosphere generated at events by this club. On Sunday, October 27, another very special event, the Memorial Match in Memory of the Late, and great, Bonnyrigg Rose Legend, Jackie Myles. This game is at New Dundas Park and it will be something very special indeed. I sincerely hope to be there to honour the memory of a great footballer and human being. From Ian Mackay And how I would love to help the people of Wester Hailes in their ongoing fight to get a modern synthetic football pitch, with floodlights, for the young people of this deprived area of Edinburgh to use. There is only one pitch at Clovenstone and the changing facilities are quarter of a mile away. Also, to get to the pitch, players and others have to climb a steep hill. That is what politicians and their lackies have inflicted on Wester Hailes. While Edinburgh University and Heriot-Watt University are given cash galore to pander to the rich kids who use the great sports facilities at both these mega rich universities. AND POLITICIANS ARE ELECTED TO ENSURE EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY TO EVERYONE. BUT NOT IF YOU LIVE IN WESTER HAILES.
