Great finals night at the club. The top 2 ladies Katie Wells and Nicola Jane Rees played in an exciting final. With Nic out of the blocks very quickly taking a 2-0 lead in the first then Katie came storming back into the match taking the first 9-2. The second started with Katie being the dominant force early on then Nic clawing her way back into it then Katie sealing the second 9-5. The third was much the same with Nic fighting hard to keep with the powerful hitting Katie . Katie won the 3rd 9-5. Retaining her title 3-0 . Great game ladies great advert for our club. Dom Price v Phil Roberts in the mens final was a tough hard fought affair with Dom behind in the first but clawed his way back from 7-4 down to take the first 9-7. Phil maybe slightly angry from losing the first came out swinging and took the second to level it at 1-1. Phil still attacking well took the next as well .Now leading 2-1 and looking confident. Dom not having any of it at all totally changed the match destroying Phil 9-1 in the fourth the match now level . Both players now looking weary . the fifth started with Dom playing at a very high tempo Phil working hard to cover the court Dom now looked strong Phil showing major signs of fatigue as Dom eased away from him in the last. Great game lads . Dom Price now club champion 2014. Many thanks to our two markers Rob Cunningham and Gary Worley and all who helped with the food . Thanks to all.
