Great gig last night. Venus Sleeps had a great clear and heavy sound and Fergs drumming sounded more assured than last time I caught them. I really like Sies vocals, they are quite unique. Roll on the album. Beastmilk were savage and you could see they were really enjoying themselves. The energy coming from the stage was infectious. I think Irish bands could learn a thing or two about stage presence from them. In Solitude too! Jesus, they gave it absolute beans on stage. The sound was a bit off for them, though. Between the mic that kept cutting in and out and the buried guitars it took a few moments to identify each song but it was pretty captivating all the same. They looked cool and their songs are so bloody good. All in all, a very enjoyable show. Linedancing and singing Cotton Eye Joe with Irish lyrics was fun too but thats another story.
