Great industry news today from Britt Fair at the Collin County / North Dallas HBA Luncheon. Some of the highlights are the following: 1) 2014 is on pace to be the highest dollar volume year in DFW residential resale history...beating 2013 due to increased price escalation (not unit sales) 2) Most areas in Dallas Metro Area have less than a 3 month supply of housing...and many have less than one month 3) Prices of homes in the DFW area have risen 25.4% since January of 2012 4) Dallas unemployment rate is 5.5 and decreasing...the National average is 5.9. 5) DFW is number two nationally behind Houston for job percentage growth 6) DFW and Texas continues to be healthier and more attractive for relocations than the rest of the US 7) There is reason to believe that long term interest rates will stay lower for the next year (Treasury rates are likely to stay low) Summary...the next year in the concrete industry here in Dallas and Ft. Worth should be another good one! Lets count our blessings and enjoy these times. :)
