Great interview with RuthAnn Cooper, who was at the 1982 lawnchair launch of Larry Walters, and took some of the only pics of his launch (& landing in powerlines), including these pics featured in LIFE Magazine. RuthAnn told us how she had called 911 as Larry was crash landing in powerlines to turn off the electricity. Incredible stories! *ALSO* yesterday, we got AMAZING news from FotoKem that the mystery VHS and Beta tapes we had found in Steves garage (while looking for the 35mm) contain 2-4 hours(!!) of original unseen footage of Larrys prep for launch!!! We had no idea what was on those tapes. I had heard there was video footage, and had a slim hope that this might be it...and it was! Steve had no idea he had the tapes or what was on them, and we barely even found them while looking through his garage for the 35mm film. We havent seen this new footage yet, but it is like a treasure we didnt even know existed! Hoping to watch it Monday; we cant watch it today as we have a big interview lined up... But we are so excited to see what is on those tapes! Hopefully Monday.
