The same is true of those people most beloved by us I think, how can we love what we dont know, apart from in an intoxicated unreal way, such as that crazy, uniformed first love many of us discover in our teens? Part of the joy in speaking with people is to discover their thoughts, their loves and their plans, their hopes and dreams. What a disservice we do to those people if we merely thrust onto them what we decide they should be feeling, doing or being according to our ideas. They have their own ideas. People talk to people who perceive nothing, who have open eyes and see nothing; they shall talk to them and receive no answer; they shall adore those who have ears and hear nothing; they shall burn lamps for those who do not see. - Leonardo da Vinci.
