Great meeting with Jason Forest and General Manager Natalie Reiter this morning to discuss the way forward regarding the Ballarat Strategy- a way forward that seeks to manage and sustain growth while building stronger communities and retaining what is unique about us as a city. Today we discussed the consultation stage which the Ballarat Strategy Steering Committee has worked hard on and which you will have the chance to contribute to very soon. Ballarats growth is no accident; it is the result of our collective efforts to preserve what is unique and special about our heritage while planning for the facilities, services, economy and lifestyle options that will deliver our ongoing prosperity. Council’s role is to anticipate and plan for the management of this growthso that all of Ballarat benefits. We do this by working with the community and identifying best practice that is translated into strategies that govern the responsible and sustained growth of key areas and aspects of our city.
