Great new volunteering opportunity - Social Media Manager The Women’s Farm & Garden Association (WFGA) is for anyone interested in horticulture - men as well as women. It is a small membership organisation, over 100 years old, which offers training via the WRAG (Work and Retrain as a Gardener) Scheme and a programme of specialist skills workshops and workdays in England, Wales and Scotland. It also provides its members with the opportunity to network with other gardening enthusiasts and professionals, and to exchange ideas and experiences. In order to move forward, the WFGA would like to recruit a volunteer Social Media Manager to provide a marketing front for the organisation on Facebook and twitter by: Raising awareness of the WFGAs profile. Networking and enhancing our connections in the horticultural world. Marketing our activities/workshop/workdays. Assisting the WRAGS Co-ordinators in their local areas. It will involve being the social media ‘face’ of the WFGA, keeping a regular profile on our Facebook and twitter accounts by posting news, comments and interesting snippets that reflect the ethos of the organisation. The role is flexible and will involve being part of a nationwide team. We are looking for a volunteer with some level of experience of social media, able to run our Facebook and twitter accounts for a period of six months or more. Proximity to Cirencester, where our office is based, would be an advantage. This is a great opportunity for someone with horticultural interests to broaden their contacts and knowledge in this area, while developing and refining their skills for a possible career in social media marketing. Contact the Volunteer Centre on [email protected] to apply!
