Great news! The ABC Kimberley are running an award for each of the Leagues called the ABC Footballer of the Year. The two coaches are supposed to pick the top two players for the opposition side each week giving 1 vote to the second best and and 2 votes to the best. Where coaches cant or wont pick the players the game day manager will appoint an appropriate person to pick the them. These are not the umpires votes. The umpires votes are sealed away and counted at the end of the season. The ABC Kimberley Footballer of the Year continues, and at the half way stage of the season, some players are making strong runs for the award. At the moment, we have two leaders in the points count with Ervin Skinner from the Blues and Luke Peters from the Crocs, both on four points. These players are followed by Jamahl Bedford from the Magpies and Eduardo Skinner from the Blues both on two points. This indicates that the competition for the award is wide open, and still able to be won by any player. Well done to those players who have scored points so far. The medal will be presented to the player with the most points at the conclusion of the season. Ongoing point scores can be heard at 6.55am on Monday Breakfast on ABC Kimberley, or after 9.30am on the Saturday Breakfast program during the footy talk. ABC Kimberley is on 106.1 FM in Fitzroy Crossing.
