Great news! Timber Press told us yesterday that Essential Perennials, the book I have been writing for several years with my friend and mentor Ruth Clausen, will be published in mid January. This has been a real labor of love, a guide to the best of contemporary perennial plants that runs to 400-plus pages. It has been a huge pleasure and honor to work with Ruth, who was my first horticulture teacher and who herself trained as a horticulturist in Britain before coming to the United States.
