Great news about one of our Athlete Potential Mentors, Mel Rippon: The Barracudas National League and Club Committees are thrilled to announce the appointment of Mel Rippon and Fabio Pavanello as our Womens and Mens national league coaches for the upcoming 2015 season respectively. Mel Rippon takes over the helm of the Barras women in 2015 after acting as the teams assistant coach for the last two seasons since her retirement from playing following the London 2012 Olympic Games. As one of the sports greats, Mel brings unprecedented experience and expertise to the role. Mel is Australias most capped female player in history and has been involved with the Barracudas womens national league program since its inception in 2004. Her playing record speaks volumes of her credentials: 3-time Olympian, 2-time Olympic bronze medalist, captain of the Olympic team in 2008 and World Cup Champion among countless other achievements and accolades, too many to list.
