Great news at some of our lakes, just in time for the weekend: • The Western reaches of Wyaralong Dam are now open to all water-based activities bit.ly/1EYKzK0 • Lake Dyer re-opens from 6am tomorrow morning (Saturday 17 January 2015) to all water-based recreation activities, and for the first time swimming bit.ly/1IGDL7L • Lake Atkinson re-opens from 6am tomorrow morning (Saturday 17 January 2015) to boating and fishing only. The lake will remain closed to swimming and skiing, until water quality test indicate it is safe for in-water activity bit.ly/1EYKzK0 If you are planning a visit to any of our dams, lakes or parks this weekend, before you leave home, make sure you check our recreation and safety notices for current conditions. Lake Borumba remains closed to all water-based activities. The swimming area at The Spit at Lake Somerset also remains closed due to blue-green algae. However, the designated swimming area at the Lake Somerset Holiday Park (off Kirkleagh Road) remains open. We will continue water quality testing at Lake Borumba and The Spit, and will re-open these recreation areas, when it is safe to do so. Whether you’re swimming, boating, fishing or using one of the many multi-purpose trails at any of our, please #playitsafe and use the designated recreation areas, be mindful of other visitors, and make sure you understand the activity rules at each lake. Our Rangers are working with Queensland Police Service to regularly patrol our lakes but they can’t be everywhere to help you. Check our website for information that will help you plan ahead for your visit, and hear from our Rangers as they give you important tips to ensure your outdoor adventures are fun and safe bit.ly/1ugmlVn
