Great news for Seedco, our community partners, and most of all the people we are committed to serving. Seedco has been chosen by the New York State Department of Health (@NYSDOH) to provide consumer health-insurance assistance to residents of all five boroughs of New York City as part of the New York Health Benefit Exchange (NYHBE). The new state-wide marketplace, which opens on October 1, will implement the Affordable Care Act in New York State and enable New Yorkers to comparison shop for coverage provided by state-approved health plans, calculate costs, and select their coverage online, in person, over the phone, or by regular mail. Public health-care programs such as Medicaid and Child Health Plus will be available for those who are eligible. This grant, along with our selection as a provider of consumer assistance to uninsured residents of Maryland’s Upper Eastern Shore, builds on Seedco’s (link to earn benefits) extensive experience providing access to public benefits.
