Great presentation by K5SDR, a fairly non-technical overview of the history of Flex Radio Systems. I was at a more technical forum at Ham-Com in Plano on the 6000 Series and I was pretty blown away by the direct RF-to-Digital conversion these boxes use, a method only recently becoming affordable for the consumer products. I have several issues with my Flex 1500 and PowerSDR that I just cant seem to resolve (CW latency and receive audio digi-distortion) but I imagine these will be non-existent in the 6000 as all the SDR processing is in the box and not done by the PowerSDR software running on the computer. An RF input feeding an A/D converter directly -- this is the future of ham radio, kids, regardless of whether the radio has knobs and buttons (which I still prefer) or is completely controlled by a PC.
