Great read and story about our friend Jordan! thank you Dustin Hinton, if anybody else has a similar story about Jordan please post it his mother Virginia would love to hear it! Here is a quick story I have about Jordan. I met Jordan at my first 50 Mile Ultra Marathon put on by our good friend Cesar Torres at the Q50 Races. Jordan was the first one there and the last one to leave. How do I know this? Well I was dead last... The race was 4 X 13.33 mile loops and Jordan parked his ranger truck near the restrooms towards the end of the loop. The first time I came through he was cheering strong and offering me water and a huge smile. Second time I came through he said You are NOT almost done, he laughed, turned his radio up, and said Go Get em. The third time I came through I did not look so hot, he walked over to me and said, Why dont you come sit in my truck for a moment and have some of my water. I have some coke too., I did sit down in his air conditioned ranger truck and drink his coke. (yes and was his coke... it was already open.. he just gave it to me, his last one.) I went back out and he said, I better see you one more time. On the fourth loop I was struggling but slowly I arrived at his truck for the last time. He walked out of the dark and said, I was getting worried about you. How are you feeling? I told him I felt terrible... He told me to just keep moving and that I was almost there. I was worried about making the cutoff and I told him I did not know if I would make it in time, he said Who cares just get there, just finish it, you worked hard all day and thats awesome enough. I left his truck and went back out into the dark to finally finish dead last... I never saw Jordan again... The only thing I know about him is when times got tough, and I did not look so hot, he gave me his last coke, a smile, and his encouragement... Rest in Peace Trail Angel. Godspeed and thank you.
