The Land of The Brave, The Land of The Free Just lock up your country and give them the key Big Brother is Watching, George Orwell was right We’ve lost all that is wrong and accept they are right. The camera’s rolling, our minds are advised To creep softly softly, and bow down to their eyes The All Watching Eye goes wherever we go And collects so much more than we ever will know. The media’s bribed by rich billionaires The CIA might befriend you but for friendships don’t care It’s all unofficial, though you sleep in their bed They’ll deny that they know you, your soul is now dead. As the coins changed hands, they cleansed out your brain And sane methods you question and now think them insane The TV, the papers, the radio dictates The way we should dress to the food on our plates. You think you are free but each man has his price They police every step with political vice Controlled politicians, blackmailed heads of State The puppets whose masters decide this world’s fate. They plant out insurgents in countries afar Masterpieces of wealth, they call religious wars A religious indictment of Lords they once praised Their lands red with blood, their buildings now razed. Religions and gospels, speak only of peace But they’ve caused every war and wars never will cease Are we the lambs that they mention in The Good Holy Book Or the innocent children? Go, take a good look! When did we last enter a war of our own? When did we last leave oil rich countries alone? Are religions man-made? Are all sceptics wrong? If religions are false, what makes them so strong? Do they belong to The Eye, The Eye that sees all The Eye that decides who stands and who falls. Paul Colvin.
