Great song. Very Lennonesque towards the end. Personally I luv and live kitsch consumerist, supertrashy rubbish also, but that does not discount this anthemic statement, which resounds from another place, where I also spend time but need more exclusive, private space. Im reading a trashy horror tonight, which I bought three weeks or so ago in a newsagents in Cologne station. Its a kind of Stephen King firestarting thing, but the child sees Spiegelmenschen immediately before ignition each time. These are mirror people. Obviously he sees them in mirrors, and I presume reflective surfaces, as apparitions. There is no bullshit in the descriptions. I know because I experienced the same, just without the fire, in Manchester in the mid-90s. Its just a description of what happens when you start scrying, so far. There is smoke and mist in the mirror, then the moving images are projected over this. Exactly what I experienced. And I admit to having seen objects which appeared next in my life, plus a person, who was sitting next to one if these objects (a WW2 German gas mask hanging in a window in the Manchester Cirn Exchange), who said his soul was black, but could never attribute meaning to what I saw. This guy had done 25 years for murder but killing people was his USP and so he grabbed a gun when he got out and went to fight the Serbs in Bosnia. He lifted his teeshirt and his torso was lacerated with schrapnel wounds. His soul was black because he had just given an order to kill a sniper in a cellar which contained only eleven women and children. My face turned into his in the crystal my ex, Cathy bought me. You may remember her even in Euro publications such as Der Spiegel as the headline face of the 1996 Manchester bombing, the pregnant girl who lost everything. Apparently. Anyhow, ancient energy I have lost touch with in recent years and am now consciously attempting to reconnect.
