Great speech MR. PRESIDENT ✌✊ The President was on point tonight if you cared to listen. The President orders are: If you been in America for more than 5 years and you have children who are American citizens or legal resident and register and pass a criminal background check and pay your fair share of taxes than you can stay in this country fairly. This is about families , good people who want a better life and these numbers are not something to laugh about they are families. They will all pay taxes which should dismiss the cost side of this. Let’s not forget how this country was built! This President is not soft on immigration check his record but he also knows we have a broken system. Expect the right to start the negative responses but like the President said pass a bill and stop talking!! This is not amnesty period, it’s a process something the system lacks now! The President explained whats the real amnesty which is millions of people living here without paying taxes aor following the rules..Now the law side: Since the federal government doesnt have the resources to deport all 11 million immigrants decisions have to be made what deportations are priority and under the constitution the one with the authority to do so is the executive branch who determines how to implement the law congress passes, so the president has the authority to pick which deportations to prosecute and which ones not to under the principle prosecutorial discretion , 1974 the supreme court the executive branch has the exclusive authority and absolute discretion to decide where to prosecute a case, and Bush HW Bush and Reagan both used it to influence immigration policy. Let anyone with a straight face say this isn’t fair or lawful!
