Great start to the week. Well somewhat. Went to bed on time but just didnt sleep well and missed my morning workout. Just couldnt pry myself out of bed. Well its pay a little now or a lot later. I paid dearly. Got home and busted out 25 minutes of cardio with T25 and then hit the road for a 3 mile naked run. No its not hop in your birthday suit and run through town trying to avoid the cops. Way to many runners myself included get so hooked on the voice prompts from our devices that we fail to recognize what is going on with our body. Many of us just dont push hard enough. So today I turned off all prompts. No mileage, no pace and no time. Been running the area long enough I know the route I need to take to hit every distance from a mile to marathon. First mile I took it easy as its been 15 weeks since my last run The Portland Marathon which was my first marathon and was some what brutal. Did my first mile in 10:39. Kicked it up a bit for the second mile and did it in 10:29. And for my last mile I hit my power up button on the Nike+ app and played a little Texas Hippie Coalition. Last 1/2 mile is a straight stretch, nice and flat. I kicked and finished strong with a 10:13. Overall pace 10:27. After a shower and some chocolate/peanut milk had an awesome salad for dinner while I prepped lunches/dinner/snacks for the upcoming week. Good start to the week.
