Great thought-provoking article. Theres one person who I admire a lot, Pablo Gomez, one of the owners of Malecon Restaurant. That guy taught me that exposure to nature and travelling are essential for a great attitude of the mind and its health. The guy travels all the time all over the world, he got his scuba diver license, he skydives in the different cities, he introduced me to skiing [now I go every year], he goes camping upstate and the last time I spoke to him, he was telling me the scary story of when he took his 8 y/o daughter rock climbing for the first time to a very vertical mountain. Hes simply always looking for something else to do in the outdoors. He has the lifestyle Id have if I had the income he has. What Im trying to say is that us [Latinos] have to recognize that there are financial barriers that limit not only the things we can do, but also our imagination, they also distort our priorities, once we recognized those patterns found in every single minority in the US, we can start rearranging our priorities and most importantly, we can start dreaming of a better future.
