Great to see the BIG letters back on the Carlton Hotel at last - looks great. Well done Minden Hanley. I really do concur with the sentiments of many that, pending the mega-buck regeneration schemes which may or may not ever happen, there is a lot to be said for doings loads of small improvements to the town. People often go to a town because of loads of small things that make the town nice, not one big thing. Swanage and Weymouth, to name but two all have lots of small nice qualities that give it that charm that draws us year upon year; neither has one mega attraction. The recent renovation of the old Pixie Hotel building was very welcome and to be highly commended; it is great to see work now starting on the east side of Waterloo Square, and with our new smarter street lamp posts going in, the seafront should look a lot better next season. Would just be great to keep up the momentum, for as they say, the best way to eat an Elephant, is in small pieces.
