Great turnout today, 20 people! Biggest attendance since May. Thanks all for coming! I saw lots of quick passes and teamwork. Nice! For those who couldnt make it, heres what we talked about t Jons house after training: 1. Setting up of committee once we are a formal club. We will need some volunteers for these roles: Vice president, treasurer, secretary. Please let Khee know if u are interested! 2. Upcoming competitions. There are a few competitions we would like to aim for next year. the first is a new competition in Brisbane in early April, the second is ODEX in Sydney in Sept. Both comps will have teams from Aus and New Zealand, but ODEX is a more established game which runs every year and may get more publicity, Brisbane game will be a new one. Theres also one in Berlin but we will probably get trashed, and its also far away. Most likely we will aim for ODEX. 3. Tactics/improvements to make: - learn to throw with one hand. throw like ur throwing a shotput. - Goalies: lie on the basket like u are a lid, dont put ur shoulders in, its a foul! - when u get the ball, dont just head straight for the goal. try to bring the play to the wall so u dont have to worry about attackers coming from the back. - if u are defending the goal, u can sit in front of the goal and use ur legs to push (not kick!!) attackers away from the you and the goal. u can put ur foot on any part of the body except the face. Next week there will be training, Khee will update us with the schedule soon!
