Great video. Seriously thought provoking to say the least. I have to admit I dont think Ive EVER been split EXACTLY 50/50 in respect to someone elses opinion. On some of these statements, I couldnt agree more, but reliably, each of those statements were followed, with one in which I emphatically disagree. Ive been around bikers my whole life, The reason I ride independent has nothing to do with my level of commitment or ability to commit. Ive watched the MC world grow from its original roots and sadly evolve into a dishonorable institution of corruption. Most have simply traded one master for another, and become the very thing, they were originally created to stand against. I am independent because as a biker I am committed to Honor, Courage, Independence, Respect, Responsibility. Many of the Clubs, either have no interest in these things, or have completely defiled the definitions of those virtues. As well, in my opinion, Clubs dont have an interest in Territory, Money, Power, or Intimidation. Once these things become the focus of a Club, it should rightfully be called what it has become, a GANG. Its very difficult to be part of a CLUB, only because the GANGS have declared themselves the authority over what CLUBS should be ALLOWED to do. I will not cower beneath the rules of any GANG, neither as a member of a club, or as an independent rider. I do not recognize their self proclaimed authority. I ride because it is what I do, it is who I am. I ride because I am dedicated to the communion with the freedom of the open road. And I will suffer NO ONE, whom would assume to tell me HOW, WHERE, WHY, OR WHEN I will be allowed to do so. And THAT is why, Im independent. My commitment to my lifestyle is no less zealous than those whom are members of a club. In truth I am far MORE likely to stop and help a fellow biker in a time of need than a patched member would be. I am not hindered by the rules and regulations that are pervaded upon me by the organization to which I am pious. There is no demand on me to restrict my assistance to only those that are acceptable to my clan. By remaining independent, I am able to eliminate the petulant and immature politics from my lifestyle. And I can simply be a decent human being. I am free to judge each and every individual, independently, by their OWN actions, and not solely by their affiliations. But that is just my opinion. To each his own. Do as you will. Each must search for their own place. And I sincerely hope that each of them finds whatever it is that they are looking for.
