Great video from Jordan Syatt and Adam Pine about when it comes to dieting. Whether you a trainer helping a client who wants to lose weight or you are someone trying to lose weight on their own, dont try to completely overhaul their diet all at once....that is a setup for failure. Start with small actionable steps the the least restrictive possible. The first week in could be increasing your protein intake and discovering the best protein sources which are ones you enjoy eating. If you dont like fish, dont eat. There are other high quality lean protein sources. The next week it could be adding more veggies into your diet. And the next, finding the best starchy carb sources for you (not too much not too little) based on you preferences and activity levels. If calorie tracking is too stressful for you, work on learning about using portion sizes to make sure you are not overeating or undereating instead. Keep it simple at first. Eat lean proteins, veggies (I prefer fresh), moderate carbs and fats. I usually eat and recommend 3 meals along with 1 -2 protein-rich snacks. Try to reduce your consumption of high processed foods as much as possible. I usually schedule my meals and snacks as much as possible which really cut down on my mindless snacking that I use to do. If after some time has passed, your not making progress towards your goals, you may need to look into other changes to help you reach your fatloss goals. Remember to be patient. Just like in The Tortoise and the Hare: Slow and steady wins the race. Most importantly, find what works best for you. It is very hard to adhere to a diet that just plain sucks... Thanks for making this awesome and important video Jordan and Adam!
