Great weekend in Loussou village ( near Dimako) where Beaulahlandland farm project is going on. Bob Peak, an American Indian from Grover Beach, CA and Dr. Tom Neuhaus of the Dept of food & science technology at California State Polytechnic University visited our farm and the village. They brought with them machetes, farm boots, reading solar lights for school kids as well as exercise books for the community. Tom has a heart for cocoa farmers across West-central Africa and visits each year. Moved by the tremendous needs in our region for more productive and satisfying ways to earn their living and for better nutrition, education and health care Bread for Life continues to find better ways if administering a wide range of poverty reduction programs - especially among the marginalized tribal groups. While tremendous progress has been made over the last forty years in raising the standard of living in Africa and other third world nations, the extend of poverty is still enormous. The World Bank estimate that more than one billion people are still living below the international poverty line of $1 per day. More than half of these live in Sub Saharan Africa! Even in countries like Cameroon that have made concerted efforts towards development, poverty remains acute. BFLs distinctiveness is in its ability to to address both physical and spiritual hunger by combining evangelism with social action. To do this, we are looking for volunteers from the West. Folks who can come for 10 days, one month or more. We are looking for farmers who can combine their knowledge and experiences with ours to make a difference. Together, we can make significant, positive and lasting impact to the glory of the zone who came so we may have Bread For Life. Check us out on breadforlife.org or cadacameroon.org Be in prayer for me as I head to Dschang, where I am enrolled for a PhD program in Integrated Rural Development at the Univesity of Dschang. I will be meeting with my supervisor this afternoon and then off to Bamenda to set up for our next medical out reaches. Will be in the USA next week for about four weeks to share in churches churches in Arkansas and Texas. Will look forward to visiting with some of you. Serving Him with you, Ernest Ehabe
