GreatStaff Solutions is looking for a Test Technician for our client in Allen Park. This is a Direct Hire position. Salary up to $70k plus benefits. Overview for Test Technician role: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: o Performs engine testing setup and test instrumentation o Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair engine/engine system in a testing environment o Perform minor engine repairs as needed o Assists with engine testing execution o Assists with set up and execution of other highly specialized tests o Provides insight and status of test performance and progression o Stays abreast of new technology and competitive products Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology. Basic Skills Required: o Exceptional organization and record keeping skills o Must have good attention to detail. o Must be a self starter, motivated and willing to learn. o Have working knowledge of basic powertrain systems o Experience in operating and troubleshooting typical engine test articles and test cell equipment such as dynamometers, oil and coolant conditioning systems, conditioned air systems, fuel flow systems etc o Experience with test cell operations such as calibrations, automated testing, data management etc. o Understanding of electrical wiring, wiring harnesses, and basic diagnostic/repair methods o Knowledgeable with various instrument tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Dial Indicators, DVMs, Oscilloscopes, etc.) • Preferred Skills: o Experience with engine emission bench operation and measurement techniques o Experience with combustion research and development o Experience with high pressure fuel systems (gas or diesel) o Familiar with the hardware and software of typical engine test systems like A&D ADAPT/CAS or AVL PUMA o Familiarity with basic operation of engine controllers o Experience with engine boosting systems o Skilled in machining and fabrication of test fixtures o Skilled in machining and fabrications of prototype parts Please submit your resume to Cristian at ctrythall@greatstaffllc.
