Greenville Prepares for 1st Christmas in the City of Creativity National and international artists will be featured in the Finale for the 2014 Mississippi Year of the Creative Economy proclaimed by Governor Phil Bryant. The 1st Christmas in the City of Creativity will take place this Friday and Saturday, December 12 and 13, at the Washington County Convention Center in Greenville. After performances in Chicago and St. Louis/Ferguson, Kunjalo, a musical ministry from Cape Town, South Africa, will headline the event, treating Greenville to a Christmas Celebration fit for a King. Pastor/Singer/Worship Leader Wess Morgan will share music and a Christmas message, and Stellar Award Winner Ben Tankard will provide gospel and jazz instrumentation on the keyboards. The supreme focus of the two-day event is on celebrating the “real meaning of Christmas” with the best in music, arts and crafts, providing shopping in the Marketplace in the arena and “wrapping” up all the excitement, networking, and hobnobbing. It will also honor Governor Bryant’s Proclamation of 2014 as the Year of the Creative Economy and Mayor John Cox’s Proclamation of Greenville as a “City of Creativity.” Come and spend a couple of hours or the entire day with family and friends and come prepared to meet and greet new friends and associates from across Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee and Louisiana Delta. For all the headliners, free tickets, artists interviews and updates, listen to WDSV 91.9 FM (online at wdsv919) or at thecollegeofaspiringartists. Presenting partners include Mississippi Development Authority and the Department of Creative Economy, The College of Aspiring Artists, Delta Citizens Alliance, Delta Foundation and WDSV 91.9 FM and the Washington County CVB.
