Greeting UJ SWC Students The leadership of ANC Youth League UJ SWC remains concerned about the issues that are highly affecting our fellow students and we still do our best in limited powers we have to champion our fellow students’ interests, because we have realized that these SASCO-led SRCs are dismally failing to deliver what is required by students. We are much aware that our current SRC members have signed a fee increment of 14% with the university, of which will continue affecting our fellow students, especially those who come from families with limited income (working class), yet one of SASCO’s resolution that was adopted is to fight for FREE HIGHER EDUCATION and we as the leadership as ANCYL we became so surprised when we were notified that a fee increment for next year have been signed which simply proves that our fellow students have been sold out at a discount. It has also came to our attention that new courses has been introduced in Soweto Campus, which led to an increase on campus capacity of which all of them are National Diplomas, yet the resources, which include computer labs, campus residents amongst others remain stable. It is clear that Soweto Campus is not taken serious and is treated as a mere sub-college of the University of Johannesburg and the ANCYL is fighting for equal treatment of students and provision of resources amongst all four campuses, because it is clear that these SASCO led-SRC are failing to deliver for our beloved students. The leadership of ANCYL is still surprised by the removal of the former SRC Chairperson in his office by SASCO because he is the one who was playing a major role in liberating our fellow student from financial exclusion and academic exclusion aka F7 r, unlike those other popularity seeking individuals, and through our observation we have realized that this leader was removed from the office to replace SRC Chairperson with one of the SASCO ancestor’s girlfriend who does not even know processes of assisting students, we therefore as ANCYL discourage the culture of strengthening and solving private relationships on the expense of our fellow students. ANC Youth League will continue engaging with the university management without any fear or favor on the issues that are affecting our fellow students until our demands are met.
