Greeting and salutations. As a committed friend of the all things AOCS, I continue to endeavor to try to find missing classmates and Drill Instructors. I have the great pleasure to tell you today that yesterday, after much searching, I was able to locate and talk to (on the phone) MGYSGT Fay Gus L. Aiken who was a Drill Instructor at NAS Pensacola in 1958!!! He was thrilled to be remember and thrilled to hear there is a reunion being planned. Bare with me as I share the beginning of the phone conversation: Me: (phone rings, and someone picks up) Hi, this is Maddie Mullis, Im with the AOCS Alumni Reunion Planning Committee and I am looking for MGYSGT Fay AIken. Gunny AIken: Voice on the other end barks . well youve got him!!! *Im thinking* These guys just never quit, do they?!?!?!? I also had the pleasure of finding SGT Connie-Mack Cramer who was a Drill Instructor in 1972. It is so wonderful to have the opportunity to tell these men the impact they had on so many lives. I hope we see them at the reunion. I am glad I can now count them in my found column. If you have any information about any of our missing/not-yet-found DIs please contact me. Sometimes just a simple tidbit like where their hometown was can help me find them. ok.... carry on....
