Greetings Citizens of the World, we are Anonymous. The mainstream media has focused mainly on the destruction taking place in Ferguson. They do not realize that the majority of those in the streets of #Ferguson are protesters, not rioters. These protesters have been in the streets since Michael Brown was shot in August. In recent days, there have also been major protests across the world, from Oakland, to Washington, DC, to London. The real reason why there have been so many protests across the nation and the world has remained unreported by the media. The protesters are peaceful, and their intent is to improve the world around them. They intend to do this by dismantling structures of oppression that have been engrained in America since its founding. They are fighting for a law enforcement and a justice system that does not dehumanize people of color. While the rioters in Ferguson were violent, and many of them exploited the situation to do harm, police have continuously slain innocent black men, which has in turn crippled the communities they have sworn to protect. We need not only vocal peaceful protesters, but also police that respect the communities they serve. Now, we have a message to the protesters. Please, remain peaceful. Laws can be changed with diligence, diplomacy, patience, and dedication. Our goal is justice for Michael Brown and all those impacted by an unfair justice system. If a police officer provokes you, do not escalate the situation; you have a right to record it, and also keep company around for support. By behaving unruly, we provoke the police toward more aggressive tactics. In addition, the mainstream media will exploit these acts to make a protest appear much more violent than it truly is. Remember, do not bow to them and do not give them ammunition for the fight. Should you be arrested, remain silent and do not resist. Finally, to the police officers, national guard, highway patrol, FBI and other government officials overseeing the protests across the nation, remember it is our right as an American citizen to protest. Let their voices be heard. They are people, citizens of this great nation that you have sworn to protect and serve. Protesting is a freedom that we have every right to express. We ask you, to work with the community and aid in the peaceful gathering. Rout out the vandals and criminals. Many of the protesters have worked hard to protect their community against those that wish it harm. Do not be the enemy. Do not be the first to throw the stone. Do not react violently to the anger of the community. Respect their rights, words, and actions. We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us.
