Greetings, Everyone! Oh, its going to be an amazing weekend, and the warm temps make Beach Yoga the perfect choice: when youre hot, run into the water to cool off! You cant do that in a studio yoga class! A bit of news that some of you have heard, some not: In its infinite wisdom, Exhale fired me earlier this month. Yes, I am one of the original teachers at what was then, Sacred Movement, and that was 12 and a half years ago. So, I am happy to say that to take class with me, please come to the most beautiful studio in Los Angeles: the beach! And at $10 per class, its less than half the price of Exhale and most other studios which are short of fresh air, space, and beauty, and they certainly dont have dolphins, which are frequent Beach Yoga visitors. All in all, Beach Yoga sounds better than ever! We have Beach Yoga 7 days a week now! Saturdays and Sundays are always at 10:30 am, year round. For now, Sunset Beach Yoga is Monday-Friday, and next week, we begin at a NEW TIME: 6:30 pm. I am delighted to introduce you to Kathy and Kyra. Kathy will be teaching Fridays and Mondays, and Kyra teaches on Thursdays. Ill be teaching the weekends, and Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please like the facebook page to keep up with schedule changes and wonderful class and teacher additions! While youre there, take a look at all the photos, and tag yourself, and tell your friends! Speaking of friends, go ahead and bring them to Beach Yoga! Theyll thank you for years! ***Also, please forward this announcement to your friends who may not know about Beach Yoga. If youre on Facebook, please click the share button so others can learn about it. So, join us this Saturday and Sunday at 10:30, and weekdays at 6:30 pm for Sunset Beach Yoga, for many memorable gatherings of yoga and fellowship. Here are the details: WHAT: Beach Yoga with Brad and friends! WHEN: Every Saturday and Sunday, 10:30-12. Also, Sunset Beach Yoga now on Mondays,Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. This week, those classes start at 6:30 pm. WHERE: Santa Monica Beach. Walk up Marine Street (which becomes Barnard Way), all the way to the waters edge, by Lifeguard Station #29. Ill be there to welcome you! COST: $10.00 per person. Thank you! BRING: Large towel, or mat. Sunscreen! Your great spirit! A sense of adventure and beauty! If its cool out, and it can be when the sun goes down, wear layers that you can take off easily as we warm up, and then put back on as we cool down. The key to comfort in Beach Yoga is to dress for the weather. And if youre wondering if you can move with layers on, the answer is a joyous YES! Remember the practice is breathing, and there are no pretzel poses in Beach Yoga. So, wear your layers, and dont worry bout nuthin! PARKING: There is free parking on Hampton (2nd St.) and 3rd and 4th, between Marine and Rose. Leave time to circle around to find free parking. On Sunday, if you park in the lot for the Farmers Market, and if you have brunch or shop there afterward Beach Yoga, you can get your ticket validated, and parking is FREE! FRIENDS: Bring em! All of em! Make it a yoga party! Questions? Contact me directly by email. See you on the beach! Love, Brad ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It is suggested to us a million times a day that our BODIES are PROJECTS. They aren’t. Our lives are. Our spirituality is. Our relationships are. Our work is. Stop spending all day obsessing, cursing, perfecting your body like it’s all you’ve got to offer the world. Your body is not your art, it’s your paintbrush. Whether your paintbrush is a tall paintbrush or a thin paintbrush or a stocky paintbrush or a scratched up paintbrush is completely irrelevant. What is relevant is that YOU HAVE A PAINTBRUSH which can be used to transfer your insides onto the canvas of your life- where others can see it and be inspired and comforted by it. Your body is not your offering. It’s just a really amazing instrument which you can use to create your offering each day. Don’t curse your paintbrush. Don’t sit in a corner wishing you had a different paintbrush. You’re wasting time. You’ve got the one you got. Be grateful, because without it you’d have nothing with which to paint your life’s work. Your life’s work is the love you give and receive- and your body is the instrument you use to accept and offer love on your soul’s behalf. It’s a system. - Glennon Doyle Melton ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Private Yoga Classes --at your home, or on the beach, or at my home It might be a birthday, or an anniversary of any kind; it might just be a time to learn yoga and treat yourself well. It might be time for a private yoga class! Perhaps youre dealing with an injury or a condition that limits mobility. Maybe youre beginning a yoga practice, and you dont want to be in a public class. Or perhaps youre an advanced yogi and you want to deepen your practice, or learn the minute details of some poses, or maybe you want your yoga class to be at a time that is more convenient for you. For any of these reasons, consider a private session or series of private sessions with me. I specialize in adapting yoga to meet your needs, with safety and comfort. Private classes can be at any location. If you love Beach Yoga, we can arrange to do it there. Your home or mine are also options. Especially on the beach, you can make your private class for as many as you wish, if sharing it with family and friends is what youd like. Contact me for scheduling and rates. I want to tell you about him and why I am recommending him, AND his very generous special offer to my students and friends. Dr. Clark is an Iron Man triathlete, who, because of his own experiences, developed a new system of care that includes a Class 4 laser treatment, cold laser, spinal decompression, massage, traditional---and comfortable---chiropractic manipulation, and exercises to do at home. Dr. Clark writes: There are generally two types of individuals: some who are looking for a chiropractor; and many others who are experiencing pain and dont know that they should be seeing me because they think they know what a chiropractor does, yet havent experienced what I do, or they simply dont realize there are highly effective, non-drug ways of treating them. Perhaps they saw one chiropractor once, and didnt have a good experience. I would like to see these people, too. I have had over 40,000 patient visits to my clinic over the years, and know how to take care of folks. He goes on to make an incredible offer: I would like to offer to your friends and students a chance to experience our clinic similar to how you did. You can tell them we would like to give them the opportunity for a full functional/structural/biomechanical exam that includes extensive medical history and would be focused on their particular immediate needs and in identifying any potential underlying issues they may be unaware of. The exam would include the computerized exam for nervous system stress and x-rays (if necessary). If possible, we would also give them a full treatment in the office the same day unless time or me needing additional medical information was necessary. They would also be scheduled for a 30 minute massage with one of our massage therapists. (Because of time and scheduling, massages are performed at a time other than the original appointment). We would be willing to offer this to the first 20 individuals who call our office. It would be very important for them to tell the receptionist that they were referred by you. I believe this is one of the single best things a person could do for their health and stress levels throughout the year. I recommend Dr. Clark highly, and would encourage you to call him and schedule an appointment to address your healing issues with him directly. Perhaps I will see you there! Remember, the offer he is making for this visit is absolutely free. The only thing you have to lose is pain. You can reach Dr. Clark at West LA Physical Medicine: (310) 473-7130 Be sure to use my name as a reference.
