Greetings! Fall is coming. It’s much cooler today. We had thunder storms beginning last night and during the night, and the rain has continued during the day. I went on the stepper and did some things inside. I also found a recipe on Facebook for crock pot meat loaf, so I am preparing that. Marisa had invited me for supper, but I wasn’t feeling up to it, so I had the meat loaf instead – it was good. Here’s a word for today: JOSHUA ASSUMES COMMAND After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.” Joshua 1:1-3 Joshua had been second in command to Moses for many years. He had been one of the 12 men sent to the Promised Land. Caleb and he had been the only ones to urge the people to trust God and go in and conquer the land, and as a result they both had been spared God’s judgment. Now Moses was dead, and the people were again on the edge of the Promised Land. It was time to enter the Land, and God had made it clear that Joshua was His choice to lead the people. So Joshua became the commander, and the people obeyed him as they had Moses.
