Greetings! I find it extremely hard to believe that in May 2015, we will have graduated from high school 10 years ago. Time has flown by! I hope that the years have been kind to you, and that you have been successful in all the endeavors you have pursued since graduating high school. You are receiving this message because it is time to plan our 10-year class reunion. First off, we need to address a few housekeeping items. Below is a list of our class officers. President – Katie Nelson Vice President – Jennifer Barnett Secretary – Marc Murphy Treasurer – Crystal Van Dyne Student Council Representative – Jessica Hager After graduation, the school gave Katie a list of everyone who graduated from Grain Valley in 2005. This list also includes the address and phone number of each student at the time graduation. Providing this list is the only thing that the school district has to do with planning class reunions, and there is no money left from our fundraising events; if there was money left after we graduated, we forfeited it back to the school. Katie was out of the country for our five-year reunion and she currently lives outside of the United States, so I have volunteered to lead the reunion planning process once again. If there is someone, or a group of individuals, that would like to form a committee that will take charge and plan future class reunions, please let us know. We also need to determine how frequently we are going to have class reunions, but that can be decided at a later time. At the end of this message, I will include the list of everyone who graduated from Grain Valley in 2005. The list is in alphabetical order and maiden names are in parentheses. While planning the five-year reunion, we were asked if the individuals who went to school with us for years, but ended up graduating from Sni-Valley instead of Grain Valley, could still be included in the class reunions. The answer is still yes. I have a list of the Sni-Valley graduates who contacted me for the five-year reunion; this list will also be included at the end of this message. If there are other 2005 Sni-Valley graduates wanting to participate in class reunions, please have them contact me to be added to the list. During the five-year class reunion planning process, I asked everyone to send me a message with their updated contact information. Once again, I need everyone to send me a private message with their updated contact information, including: 1. Current Name 2. Current Mailing Address 3. Phone Number 4. Email Address This is extremely important because it gives us several ways to contact you for future reunions. Unfortunately, I already have a list of people that we were never able to get in touch with for the five-year class reunion. Please don’t let this happen to you; perhaps you don’t care about attending a class reunion now, but I don’t want you to miss the opportunity in the future, so please take the time to give us your updated contact information. The number one way we are getting in touch with everyone is facebook; in fact, I have already spent several hours searching for everyone on facebook, and reviewing my notes from my search for the five-year reunion. When you look through the list of our classmates at the end of this message, the classmates that I have not been able to find, or they have not accepted my facebook friend request yet, will have a note in parentheses after their name. The note will describe where I am with finding them for the 10-year reunion. We need help getting in touch with all of these individuals. If you are still in touch with one of these individuals, or know how to get in touch with them, please contact them for us. Please obtain their updated contact information and send it to me, or give them my email ( [email protected] ), so they can personally contact me. As a last resort, we will try calling the last known phone number and/or mailing a letter to the last known address for anyone that I do not hear from on facebook or via classmate. For the five-year reunion, I called the last known phone number I had for anyone that I hadn’t heard from on facebook or via classmate, and I never heard back from any of those individuals. You have until the end of December to complete this survey. Once the survey closes, I will report the results to everyone and we will start talking about ideas for the reunion at that time. If you already have a reunion idea, please feel free to share it at any time. I will put all of the ideas in a survey and have everyone vote on what idea they like best early this next year. My hope is that by March, we will know what we are going to do for a reunion. I want to get the reunion date set as soon as we can this next year, so anyone who needs to travel to attend the reunion will have ample time to plan ahead.
