Greetings MKF members, Recently Ive been contacted by Kizer - TopicsExpress

Greetings MKF members, Recently Ive been contacted by Kizer knives from China to organise a pass-around test for their knives and yes… like you, I was a little skeptical and declined their offer but William, their marketing rep was very passionate about getting their products into the Malaysian market (they are currently active in the North American market) and my condition was we will only accept knives that are their own intellectual property. We had a few email exchange and he FedEx one of their collaboration knife with GTI (Gingrich Tactical Innovations) dubbed: Ki4416… yeah, not too hot about the naming but the actual knife speaks for itself. ;) Before I continue, heres the link to the knifes specs https://facebook/KizerKnivesCN/posts/692056404207422 Below is my initial review of the knife on its aesthetic and build quality only, field testing will be done by more qualified individuals. Will post their findings in weeks to come. Upon receiving the knife, the first thing that caught me was how hefty this little beast is. Dont get me wrong, Its not heavy… but hefty, a solid feel to it. The knife came in a hard corrugated box, plastic bag wrapped and an instruction/warranty paper… the usual suspects youd get from makers like Spyderco or Benchmade. Once I have the physical knife in my hand, boy am I impressed with the build quality… Id say on par with any good prod knife maker from U.S or Europe. Honestly, Its not chest thumping just because they approached me but because the knife is REALLY well made. Now youll notice I say its well made and not how beautiful it is, aesthetic wise… everyone have their own taste so you be the judge of it… some may like the simplicity of the drop point, some may think other wise. As for me, Im ok with it… Im fine with the blade design and all, just not too crazy about having both dots and cut-outs on the G-10 handle at the same time. ;) Overall the grind, fit and finish is top notch… the opening is smooth thanks to the double bronze phosphorus washer and the blade sits dead center. The lock up is solid and the liner does not eat into the blade when engaged. The G-10 with its cut-outs provides a firm grip and the handle is long enough to aid handling… my personal take is if theres a glass breaker on the butt would be great. The cutting edge is sharp (enough) for daily chores and again, some folks like their blade razor sharp or have a polished edge so for that, youll have to DIY. Last but not least, I think Kizer knives provides a nice mix to your usual brands from States… their price is fair and most importantly, the build is fantastic… value for money IMHO. William had also informed me that they will be collaborating with more knife makers and designers in the future, hopefully folks from this part of the world gets to enjoy their fruits of labour. :D Enough of talk, enjoy them pix! (They dont do the knife justice but enough to give you a rough idea)
